The Assignment Results section in Speakable provides teachers with comprehensive tools to effectively review and manage student submissions. This guide outlines the key functionalities available within this section to help you navigate and utilize these features efficiently.

1. Reviewing Assignment Submissions

View Scores/Submissions

On the Assignment Results page, teachers can view the overall submissions and grades for all students. This main dashboard displays a list of students, their submission status, and the grades they’ve received so far. You can easily identify which students have pending submissions that need to be graded or reviewed.

Reopen Assignments

If a student needs to resubmit an assignment, teachers have the option to reopen it. This can be done either from the three-dot dropdown menu next to each student’s name or directly from within the individual student’s results page.

Close and Collect All

Once all students have submitted their work, or you’re ready to finalize the grading, you can use the Close & Collect All button. This action finalizes all pending assignments, ensuring that no further submissions or changes can be made.

2. Reviewing Individual Results and Adjusting Scores

Overview and Student Action Results

To review a specific student’s submission in detail, click on their response. This will open a popup modal where you can directly adjust the score, allowing for flexibility in grading based on a more detailed review or additional context.

Adjust Pass/Fail Scores Manually

For multiple-choice (MC), repeat actions, and pass/fail respond cards, teachers can manually adjust pass/fail scores. This is particularly useful for subjective responses or correcting any mistakes made during the initial grading process.

Adjust Rubric Scores for Respond Cards with Rubrics

For respond cards that utilize a rubric, teachers can adjust the scores for each rubric criterion directly within the student’s detailed result page. This feature allows for more nuanced grading based on specific performance indicators. The overall score will be automatically recalculated based on these adjustments.

3. Free Version Only: Reviewing Assignments

In the free version of Speakable, AI does not automatically grade respond actions. Teachers must manually review these responses, assign a score, and finalize the overall assignment grade. The final assignment score will not be available until all responses are manually graded.

4. Finalize the Assignment

After reviewing all student submissions, finalize the assignment by clicking the Finalize button. This action locks in the student’s scores and completes the grading process.

5. Review Content Analytics

View ACTFL/WIDA Aggregate Data

For organization plans, Speakable provides aggregate analytics on ACTFL or WIDA proficiency estimates. This data is accessible by clicking on a respond card from the content tab, offering insights into the overall proficiency levels across the class.

6. Commenting on Student Submissions

How to Leave Comments

Teachers can leave personalized comments on student responses to provide additional feedback or clarification. Comments can be added directly within the student’s result page or in the popup modal that appears when reviewing specific actions.

Generate AI Comment Suggestions (Organization Plans Only)

For those on organization plans, Speakable offers AI-driven comment suggestions. This feature helps teachers quickly provide meaningful feedback by suggesting relevant comments based on the student’s response.
